Why is Telegram using 40 GB? (and WhatsApp, Slack, Discord…)

Why messengers balloon

Use each app's own cache control — no digging through hidden folders:

Telegram → Settings → Data and Storage → Storage Usage → Clear Cache. You can also cap it (5 GB / 16 GB / 32 GB) so it never bloats again.
WhatsApp → Settings → Storage and Data → Manage Storage → review the big conversations and delete media.
Slack → Help/▾ menu → Troubleshooting → Clear Cache and Restart.
Discord → Settings → Cache → Clear Cache.

Each one only drops cached copies — your chats and history stay intact.
